Fulton Elementary students learn from wildlife experts

Students in Fulton Elementary’s Junior Naturalist and Birdwatching classes received an up-close look at Texas wildlife earlier this week, thanks to special guest presentations from field experts and help from Rockport-Fulton Middle School student volunteers.

On Nov. 11, middle school students joined the younger learners as co-teachers, helping them identify local bird species during their birdwatching session.

During the Junior Naturalist class, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Superintendent Edwin Quintero gave a lesson on the reptiles and amphibians of Texas. Students learned about cold-blooded animals, reptile scales versus amphibian skin, and the unique adaptations these species use to survive.
