The status of a project that would widen a stretch of Albertsons Parkway in Broussard is uncertain following a letter sent to the city by Attorney General Liz Murrill’s office.
Following a request from Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque, the AG’s office opined that changes made to a contract between the city and local land development company Guidry Land Development were a “gratuitous transfer of property.”
The contract, originally signed in 2023, was amended last year to reduce the amount local developer Cliff Guidry would be required to cover for the road-widening project. The additional lane in question is to be located along Albertsons Parkway between Morgan Avenue and St. De Porres Street.
