Hazardous material scare triggers lockdown at Rock Valley College

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A building on the Rock Valley College campus was placed on lockdown due to hazardous materials, according to administrators.

The Rockford Fire Department was called to the Jacobs Center for Science and Medicine (JCSM), at 3301 N Mulford Road, at 11:18 a.m. Saturday.

“Emergency crews are on site. No one is allowed to enter the JCSM, and everyone should stay away from the building at this time. More information will be shared as it is available,” the college said on its website…
