Bossier City fire chief retiring, mayor conducting search for his replacement

Bossier City Fire Chief Brad Zagone will retire in January of 2026, according to city spokesperson Louis Johnson.

Zagone became fire chief in 2011, following Sammy Halphen. Now, Mayor Tommy Chandler is in the process of selecting the next chief.

Johnson confirmed a fire chief test was given recently, and the names of those who posted qualifying scores for the position were forwarded to Chandler. Interviews are being conducted, and the mayor has a leading candidate…
