3 Reno High School vandalism suspects enter guilty pleas, sentencing set for January

Three of the seven defendants charged in connection with vandalism at Reno High School appeared before Judge Barry Breslow on Thursday and formally entered guilty pleas.

Brady Smith, Isabella Russell and Reagan Jaksick each pleaded guilty during a status hearing. Russell and Jaksick face one count of damage to property used for education purposes, while Smith faces three counts.

Their attorney told the court that both sides have reached a plea agreement. The proposed deal includes community service in addition to probation, but no jail time. However, Judge Breslow emphasized that while he accepted the guilty pleas, he is not bound by the agreement and can follow sentencing guidelines, meaning jail time is still a possibility…
