CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)— Hundreds of residents, visitors, and local leaders filled downtown Charleston Saturday to celebrate the grand opening of American Gardens, a new one-acre public space that city officials say is poised to become one of the peninsula’s most popular gathering spots.
The project, which has been months in the making, brought together community members along with city and state leaders to mark what many are calling a new chapter for Charleston County.
