Warm weekend continues / increased rain chances next workweek

Good Saturday afternoon, everyone!

Benign and above normal temperatures prevails into Sunday afternoon as high temperatures are expected to peak into the 70’s and perhaps low 80’s across our southern counties. Winds will relax slightly tomorrow, sustained out of the south/southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Balmy and dry weather continues into early next workweek, with highs in Amarillo forecasted at around 72 degrees for both Monday and Tuesday.

Increased rainfall chances are on the up and up from Wednesday through Friday as a low pressure disturbance settles in from the west. The bulk of our coverage area may receive at least a couple to a few tenths of an inch of rainfall, with markedly increasing chances/amounts with eastern extent. However, uncertainty concerning the position of the system casts considerable doubt on precise location, timing, coverage, and rainfall amounts of individual storms.
