A franchisee of Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburger has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The chain is based in Wichita, Kansas, and it rivals Dairy Queen with its frozen custard and burger options. It’s menu includes steakburgers, grilled cheese, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and, of course, its rich, freshly-churned custard. The franchisee M&M Custard LLC and 31 affiliates filed for bankruptcy protection in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas.
The franchisee listed $5.2 million in assets and $27.7 million in liabilities, and it had between 100 and 199 creditors. The fast food group runs several Freddy’s locations across Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee…
