Scotts Mills Standoff Ends with Arrest of Wanted Fugitive After SWAT Entry

Scotts Mills, OR. — A late-night standoff ended in an arrest Thursday after Marion County deputies and a SWAT team took a wanted fugitive into custody following hours of failed negotiations.

Just after 10 p.m. on November 13, deputies responded to the 300 block of 2nd Street in Scotts Mills in search of 40-year-old Darren Lake, who was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Lake refused to leave the residence or cooperate when deputies made contact.
