HONOLULU (KHON2) – A hiker was rescued from the Diamond Head Crater Trail on Saturday morning, Nov. 15, after he got sick and couldn’t make it back down.
HFD says they got the 911 call just after 11 a.m., where crews hiked up the trail to reach the man, who is in his 50s, while another team set up a safe landing area for the helicopter.
An ill hiker was rescued at Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail
Firefighters checked on him, gave basic care, and helped him to the landing zone. He was then lifted out by Air 1 at 11:49 a.m. and handed over to EMS for more help.
