KANEOHE, Hawaii (Island News) — The food pantry Giving Hope Hawaii is planning to give 400 turkeys away for Thanksgiving to families in need at a drive-thru event on Windward Oahu.
Giving Hope Hawaii will be providing turkeys along with a spread of other Thanksgiving food to hundreds of families at Windward Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM, located on Kahuhipa Street in Kaneohe. The drive-thru distribution will be on Saturday, Nov. 22, between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
The food pantry is having its first-ever turkey dinner distribution event to provide food assistance and holiday nourishment to families facing food insecurity in the wake of the government shutdown. 400 turkeys will be available in addition to other ono Thanksgiving entrees and sides like rice, corn, chicken pouches, raisins, cranberry sauce, pasta and more.
