Alvin Myron Murray, a 68-year-old man from Detroit, has been charged with robbing banks in Southeast Michigan, including incidents in Ann Arbor and Ferndale. The most recent robbery took place at First Merchants Bank in Ferndale, where Murray allegedly took $400. He is also accused of a robbery in Ann Arbor. Murray was arrested on Thursday, just before a suspected robbery in Mt. Clemens, following an investigation involving the Oakland County Gang and Violent Crime Task Force and ALPR technology, according to CBS News Detroit.
Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald emphasized the gravity of the offenses, stating, “Bank robberies endanger employees and customers.” In her statement obtained by MLive, she continued, “Thanks to law enforcement, the message to this defendant and any other would-be robbers is, you might get away from the scene, but you won’t get away with the crime.”…
