Columbus is top city, Ohio second-best state for growth and infrastructure in new report

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The 2025 Global Groundwork Index has been released and Columbus is ranked number one for the first time. Ohio is listed as the second-best state for growth.

Ohio flip-flopped with its neighbor to the west, Indiana, in this year’s report. The Lafayette/West Lafayette region jumped up 11 spots from last year from 13th to number 2, behind Columbus.

Highlighted by major projects from Intel, Anduril, Amgen, Google, and more, Ohio is also ranked number 1 for infrastructure (#5 overall) in the 2025 CNBC Top States for Business report.
