Volleyball Pushes Gannon to the Limit, Falls in Five

ERIE, Pa. — Gannon (22-6, 13-1 PSAC) edged out Clarion (12-16, 6-8 PSAC) in a five-set thriller at Highmark Events Center on Saturday, winning 3-2 (25-15, 24-26, 25-14, 20-25, 15-7). The Golden Eagles’ standout performance came in the fourth set, where they hit .273 with 16 kills to force a decisive fifth set.

The opening set saw Clarion trading early points with the Golden Knights, highlighted by Addy Turek’s initial kill to level the score at 1-1. As the set progressed, Clarion maintained competitive footing with contributions from Raegan Stader and Natalie Karrick, keeping the score close at various intervals. However, the Golden Knights capitalized on a series of offensive plays and Clarion’s service errors to extend their lead.
