The Mobile County Health Department (MCHD) in Mobile, Alabama, is supporting the Great American Smokeout on November 20, 2025. Dr. Kevin Michaels, Health Officer for Mobile County, spoke about the need for planning and persistence in quitting smoking. He noted the addictive nature of tobacco and the challenges of vaping and e-cigarette use, especially among young people. Dr. Michaels also stated that tobacco use, including vaping and e-cigarettes, is not allowed on many medical campuses, including MCHD facilities.
