The 4th annual Murrells Inlet Boiled Peanut World Championship was held on Sunday at Suck Bang Blow.
Vendors competed for people’s choice and judges’ choice trophies.
“Peanuts are obviously a southern staple, but it’s neat to see the different twist people put on them,” said Sean Bernard Kitchen Manager at Suck Bang Blow. “We personally we did a Thai-style, curry peanut. It is coconut milk. And, you know, lime leaves, Thai basil is different from what you’d expect out of boiled peanuts, but you know what I mean. That’s what it’s all about, coming out here and tasting different stuff and having a good time.”…
