WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Two Kansas sheriff’s deputies were honored posthumously at the annual Kansas Sheriff’s Association fall conference last Thursday, Nov. 6.
Phillips County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Gaede and Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Deputy Elijah Ming were named the Kansas Sheriffs’ Deputy Sheriff of the Year.
Law enforcement increases patrols ahead of holiday travel season
Gaede was shot and killed in the line of duty on June 27 while making an arrest in Phillipsburg. Ming was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call in Kansas City, Kansas.
