Wounded firehouse dog Cookie Marie captures hearts of Montgomery County first responders

Cookie Marie was a sweet surprise the first responders at Montgomery County’s ESD 9 didn’t know they needed.

She wandered into Station 81 in Grangerland in September as a stray pup, made herself at home and has since won the hearts of the firefighters, EMS staff and the Grangerland community.

“She has a unique routine: every morning, she walks our employees to their cars as they leave for the day, then returns to the apparatus bay to wait patiently for the next person to head out,” according to a Facebook post from Montgomery County ESD 9. “Her presence has brought a remarkable sense of warmth and companionship to the station.”…
