National Guard’s move from Interbay to North Bend could open major redevelopment site

SEATTLE — The Washington National Guard is preparing to relocate its Interbay Armory to North Bend, a move that could free up one of the area’s largest remaining industrial parcels for redevelopment.

The Guard purchased property at 14410 468th Ave. S. over the summer, but funding for the new facility remains uncertain. A spokesperson said similar timelines have taken five to seven years.

“We are looking at multiple sources of funding – federal, state, regional or a hybrid of any or all of those. The speed at which this project can be completed will depend on how soon we can get funding,” the spokesperson told KING 5…
