HONOLULU (KHON2) — At a time when Oahu has been asked to cut water use by 20%,Hawai‘i Kai residents say they’ve been watching sprinklers run nonstop for days at the Kamiloiki Hawaiian Electric substation, which sits right next to a Board of Water Supply facility.
Residents noticed the sprinklers wouldn’t shut off back on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

“When we came home from the grocery store they were still on, the next day they were on in the morning and then in the evening, they were just on for 24 hours,” said Hawaii Kai resident Chassis.
