COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Jury selection began Monday morning in Columbus for a Salem, AL man accused of murder/kidnapping in July 2015. The defendant, Stacey Gray, sat in front of a pool of 100 possible jurors.
Gray was arrested after being named a suspect in the murder case of 25-year-old Renee Eldridge. Eldridge was reported missing on July 4, 2015. Her body was found three days later in Valley, Alabama. Investigators said she died from blunt force trauma.
Police testified in 2015 that Eldridge was found July 7 face down in the creek under Hopewell Road bridge. They say her neck, feet and hands were all tied together with a green nylon rope. Police also said that a rope with a cement block was tied at her feet…
