Pair accused of stealing $7,000 in items from gas station in North Carolina

ROCKFISH, N.C. (WNCN) — Deputies in Hoke County are looking for two men who broke into a gas station and stole more than $7,000 worth of cigarettes and other tobacco products on Halloween.

The break-in and brazen theft was reported around 4 a.m. on Oct. 31 at the Refuel Gas Station located at 7486 Rockfish Road, about a half mile from the Cumberland County line, according to a Hoke County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The pair, who were driving an early 2000s Chrysler PT Cruiser, backed the vehicle up to the store before the theft and were caught on video loading it up, deputies said.

The sheriff’s office said the PT Cruiser was missing a hub cap on the front left wheel and had damage along the front and rear driver’s side doors…
