TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Highway Patrol said that a bicyclist who was struck by a semi-tractor on US-41 last week was struck just thirty seconds later by another vehicle, which then fled the scene.
The crash happened at around 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 11 in the northbound lanes of US-41 approaching 24th Avenue South.
The bicyclist, who was not in a marked crosswalk, attempted to cross multiple lanes of traffic and was struck by the passing Volvo semi-tractor. The driver of the semi, a 53-year-old Tampa man, pulled over and turned his hazards on, seemingly waiting for law enforcement to arrive…
