Syracuse Police Department is dealing with double the amount of car thefts they usually handle this week.
Above is an excerpt of this week’s COMPSTAT (Comparative Statistics) report. It shows last week at 24 thefts, which is already high compared to the rest of the data, while this week sits at 43. Chief Joe Cecile with the Syracuse Police Department looked into the reason why this week spiked. “We have asked our Crime Analysis Center, who has indicated that historically, November is high,” he said.
