State Police investigating suspected animal cruelty case in Perry County

NEWPORT, Pa. — State Police are investigating a suspected animal cruelty case in Perry County, allegedly involving the death of a pit bull found hanging by its hind legs in the basement of a home in Newport.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by investigators seeking a search warrant in the case, the suspects involved in the dog’s death are a couple that lives in a home on the 300 block of North 4th Street.
