Yesterday, a group of Buddhist monks walking from Fort Worth to Washington, D.C., made a stop at the Pearland Police Department. Our officers were honored to meet them and provide a safe escort as they traveled through the city.

Our officers were honored to meet them and provide a safe escort as they traveled through the city.These monks are on a 2,300-mile Walk for Peace, a 110-day pilgrimage that began on October 26, 2025. Their journey is dedicated to promoting national unity, healing, and compassion, with planned stops in state capitals along the way.In addition to their spiritual practices, the monks are accompanied by a dog named Aloka, who is walking alongside them every step of the way. ​Aloka enjoyed a nap on the tile floor of the PD Lobby.
