The Omicron Chapter of Lambda Theta Neu, Inc. held a banquet in celebration of their 25th anniversary on Saturday night, Nov. 15. This marked a quarter century of the chapter’s presence at UNO. Current sisters, alumni, accompanying guests and several of the chapter’s original founders counted the attendance at the ornately decorated event hall in North Omaha, where dinner was served, exceptional individuals were recognized and most of all, the enduring sisterhood was celebrated.
“I just feel really proud,” said founding member Anadelia Lamas-Morgan. Graduating in 2002 and majoring in Spanish, Morgan was the very first member of the chapter to graduate.
“I think that more and more we’re seeing more Latina women go to college, and so I just want and hope that we just continue to build,” Lamas-Morgan said. “We continue to build, and we keep sending out Latino leaders, Latina leaders, into our communities, into the business tables, at the board tables, because our voice matters.”…
