Record Highs, Heavy Rains Expected Through Weekend

EL DORADO — Unseasonably warm temperatures are expected to return to South Arkansas early this week, with highs Tuesday and Wednesday climbing into the upper 70s and lower 80s — near record levels for mid-November, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.

Forecasters say Tuesday’s warmth will bring temperatures close to long-standing records across the state. In some areas, including Pine Bluff and El Dorado, highs could reach the 80-degree mark, well above the normal averages for this time of year. Similar conditions are expected Wednesday before the pattern shifts.

A significant change arrives late in the week as a widespread rainfall event moves in. The National Weather Service says the system will bring “beneficial rainfall” across Arkansas, helping ease ongoing dry conditions.
