LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with AAA said those planning travel during the Thanksgiving holiday can expect plenty of company.
Officials are projecting that 81.8 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home over the Thanksgiving holiday, from Tuesday, Nov. 25, to Monday, Dec. 1. This is the highest number of travelers projected since the 77.8 million of 2019 and 1.6 million above 2024’s numbers, officials said.
AAA officials broke down the numbers to show that 73 million will travel by car and pay an average of $3.06 per gallon for gas. The agency also recommends that drivers take the time to check their battery and tire pressure before hitting the road, in light of the 600,000 service requests it received during the 2024 Thanksgiving season…
