Pedestrian struck on 32nd Avenue and Minnesota Drive dead, APD says

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Carl Schmidt, the 65-year-old man struck by a Ford F150 near the intersection of 32nd Avenue and Minnesota Drive on Oct. 28, died on Nov. 7, according to the Anchorage Police Department.

The APD said Schmidt died at the hospital due to injuries sustained during the collision. The incident is now being investigated as a fatality. As of Monday, no charges have been filed.

Schmidt was struck at about 8:22 p.m. on Oct. 28. He was crossing Minnesota Drive and was not on a marked or unmarked crosswalk. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation…
