2 women arrested in Morgan Hill backyard burglary bust

(KRON) — Two women were arrested recently in an attempted backyard burglary, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. According to SCCS, deputies responded to a reported burglary in progress in unincorporated Morgan Hill.

A homeowner, police said, spotted two women in the backyard. Although there was no evidence of forced entry, the homeowner told police the suspects were seen trying to open doors.

A short while later, deputies located what officials described as a “suspicious SUV.” Two people who matched the homeowner’s description of the alleged burglars were with the vehicle.

One of them had a meth pipe, officials said. The SUV also had a fake license plate which was a paper photocopy, “made to look real,” SCCS said.

A search of the vehicle uncovered:

  • A black ski mask and a tan Halloween mask
  • Louis Vuitton bags and a purse
  • San Francisco 49ers collectible coins
  • Gift cards and debit cards
  • A BB gun
  • A baseball bat with pink and black screws

One of the suspects had an active warrant out of Santa Cruz County for three counts of burglary and conspiracy, officials said. Both women were arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for attempted burglary, conspiracy and other charges…
