Arrest made after social media meet-up turns violent in Madison County

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A man has been arrested after a late-night social media meet-up ended in gunfire and left another man critically wounded, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. The shooting happened on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Deputies say that around 11 p.m. that night, an adult male arrived at the Crestwood Freestanding Emergency Department with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported for additional treatment and was listed in critical condition.

Investigators report the victim and another person had gone to meet someone they’d been communicating with through a social media app. When they arrived, they instead encountered a different person. A fight broke out, leading to the shooting. The suspect ran from the scene…
