LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Several members of the Lansing City Council said they’re concerned one of their own may have violated city ethics rules, despite a decision by the City Attorney.
At least two current members and one former member of the council tell 6 News they’re concerned because Tamera Carter voted to spare a property that’s owned by her sister-in-law from possibly being demolished.
Carter is an At-Large member of city council and voted Nov. 10 to rescind a make safe or demolish order for a property owned by her sister-in-law Alesia Flowers. The property, 108 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. was originally subject to the order on April 21, 2025.
But Carter said there’s no conflict, and said the city’s top legal mind backs her up…
