Chef Vincenzo Betulia’s latest culinary venture Tulia Italian Steak is now open on Fifth Avenue South.
The upscale steakhouse took the place of The French Brasserie, which closed in September after eight years of serving the community. Some elements of The French remain, like the black-and-white-tile floors, but the restaurant received a major facelift from designer Debra Lee Yelner. It’s sexy, moody, and delicious.
“It’s elegant, but not stuffy,” Betulia said. “I don’t need to open a fine dining restaurant. I never will. I don’t want people to get this misconception that Tulia Italian Steak is a fine dining restaurant.”…
