Myrtle Beach man charged after police respond to ShotSpotter alert

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Myrtle Beach police arrested a man Sunday evening after responding to a ShotSpotter alert earlier in the day and then learning that a person had taken themselves to a local hospital.

Tevin Hinds, 31, of Myrtle Beach, is charged with possession of a firearm by an unlawful alien and discharging a firearm within the city, police said Sunday night in a Facebook post. The injured person was treated for a non-life-threatening injury and released from the hospital.

Officers responded at about 5 a.m. to the gunshot-detection alert in the 1300 block of Dunbar Street and began gathering information. There were no 911 calls for the incident…
