A mother from The Villages was arrested after allegedly attacking her son’s unwelcome gal pal.
Officers had been called to a manufactured home in the Parkwood Oaks community at about 1 p.m. Saturday where a man said he wanted a woman to leave, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. Officers had responded to a previous call at the property and had established that the woman was a resident, therefore if the man wanted her to leave, he would have to go through an eviction process.
At that time, the man’s mother, 75-year-old Danna Bassett of the Village of Pinellas, showed up. She also demanded that the woman be removed from the property. Bassett was also advised of the eviction process, but said she would “make her leave.” Bassett went into the manufactured home and began throwing items out the door.
Officers heard the other woman saying, “Don’t touch me.” They entered the home and saw Bassett, who stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds, holding the other woman against the wall by her throat. Bassett was pulled off the woman, handcuffed and taken into custody…
