Statewide prison condition study updated

BROOKLYN – The Correctional Association of New York, (CANY) an independent, non-profit organization with a legislative mandate to monitor and report on the conditions in New York State prisons, announced an update to its interactive map of state prisons, providing the latest available data on prisoners, facility capacity, and staffing levels for each prison as well as information on stationary and body worn cameras at the facilities. This follows the release of CANY’s staffing dashboard, which shows detailed information on staffing vacancies by facility and trends in staffing fill levels over time.

“CANY’s interactive map organizes relevant information in one place so that stakeholders can see data on the number of staff, the number of incarcerated people, the number of available beds, and the status of stationary and body-worn cameras – all at a facility-by-facility level.
