Jordan Creek is one of thirty locations across the nation that is going to be gaining its access to Toys “R” Us yet again. You heard that right, Geoffrey the Giraffe is coming back to town.
There are thirty locations that are going to be opening up. Of those thirty, twenty are going to be seasonal pop-up locations for holiday shopping, and the other ten are going to be larger, flagship stores. West Des Moines will be home to one of these ten larger stores. It is one of seven that will not be located within Californian borders.
After not receiving any sort of profit since 2013, Toys “R” Us finally announced bankruptcy in 2017. By 2018, all of their stores within the United States were liquidated and shut down. In November and December of 2019, Toys “R” Us opened up two stores, one in North Carolina, one in Houston, Texas. These stores were going okay with partnership with Target and then Amazon, until the COVID-19 pandemic stomped out both stores in January of 2021.
Toys “R” Us has tried to reboot multiple times, trying locations in nine different states, holiday pop-ups in Macy’s stores nationwide, and a successful spot in Mall of America…
