50 National Nuclear Security Administration employees return to Pantex

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Fifty federal National Nuclear Security Administration employees who were furloughed due to the government shutdown returned to Pantex on Monday.

According to previous reporting by MyHighPlains.com, on Oct. 22, 2025, officials from Pantex had reported that 50 federal NNSA employees at Pantex were furloughed. These employees work directly for NNSA at Pantex and not for PanTeXas Deterrence, LLC.

Full SNAP benefits to be restored by Monday: Agriculture secretary

PanTeXas Deterrence, LLC, or PXD officials noted at the time of the employees being furloughed that PXD serves as the management and operating contractor for NNSA’s Pantex Plant, and employees working for PXD are not federal employees.
