Heart of the High Plains: Amarillo Area Foundation

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Area Foundation has been in the community for decades, providing support to those in the community through their scholarships, grants, and programs.

One of the biggest programs hosted by Amarillo Area Foundation is The Panhandle Gives, an annual campaign event showcasing nonprofits from across the Texas Panhandle to raise funds over the course of nine days.

“We are really happy to partner with 260 organizations this year that represent organizations in all 26 counties of the area that we cover. So it’s really exciting for the second year in a row to have all 26 counties represented. The goal is to just elevate philanthropy and also really highlight the important work that nonprofits provide to our communities,” added Broc Carter, Amarillo Area Foundation Sr. Director of Operations & Communications. “By strengthening, sometimes, the most vulnerable folks in those communities and giving them really an opportunity to achieve and to have rich, full lives.”…
