BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Main Street in Bethlehem is serving up sweets for a cause later this month. Cookies in the Christmas City will return Saturday, Nov. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., inviting visitors to enjoy a festive cookie tour while supporting Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a national nonprofit funding pediatric cancer research.
At the heart of the event are local mom Sara Austin and her son Ben, a two-time cancer survivor. Ben was first diagnosed at age 3½ with Stage 3 Wilms’ tumor and faced relapse soon after. Now a seventh grader celebrating more than six years cancer-free, Ben and his mom have raised tens of thousands of dollars to help fund pediatric cancer research.
“This event is about proving that one family’s fight can make a difference for so many others,” organizers said.
Participants can purchase a $25 ticket, which includes a cookie tin and a passport to guide them through the day. Shoppers will stroll along Main Street, visiting participating businesses to collect cookies at each stop. By the end of the tour, guests will have a tin full of treats and a completed passport to mark their progress…
