Three dead, two injured from an east Columbus fire near Reynoldsburg

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Three people are dead and two people were injured, including a child who was thrown out of a window, after a fire broke out in an east Columbus home Tuesday morning.

According to the Columbus Division of Fire, calls were received at 2:17 a.m. and crews arrived to the 2900 block of Freedom Trail, between Gender Road and Tusing Road near Reynoldsburg. There was a child outside of the home who had reportedly been thrown out of a window of the home, and a woman who jumped, Columbus Fire said.

The child, which Columbus police confirmed was a toddler aged girl, was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition, while the woman is being treated at a hospital in stable condition.

Three adults were found dead at the scene – Two were removed and pronounced outside of the home, one victim remained inside of the home on the second floor while crews continue to investigate the cause of the fire…
