Good Samaritan saw out-of-town homicide victim get beaten, robbed in Harrisburg restaurant

A good Samaritan was watching from outside through the windows of a Harrisburg fried chicken restaurant last year as a violent encounter unfolded that would lead to a man getting shot dead less than an hour later.

Assistant District Attorney Amanda Batz said the witness was at the USA Fried Chicken on Derry Street the night of April 17, 2024, and saw Erick Boone, 29, and Marcus Stultz, 28, punch, kick, and then rob Dewayne Brown, 43, as he waited for his food order.

Many customers did not stop to help Brown during the beating inside the restaurant, Batz said. She said surveillance footage shows one man stepping over Brown to retrieve his fried chicken order…
