This South Carolina Restaurant Will Transport You Straight To Belgium

Recently, Greenville, South Carolina, has been on my radar more than ever. The city is buzzing with restaurants, parks, trails, and local businesses, and it’s no surprise that more and more people are not only visiting, but moving here. While Greenville has plenty to love, there’s one spot I can’t stop thinking about: The Trappe Door, a unique restaurant tucked away in downtown Greenville.

If you’ve never been to Belgium, or maybe you have, this restaurant will make you feel like you’ve stepped straight across the pond. From the atmosphere to the food, it’s a little slice of Europe right in South Carolina.

A Unique Underground Experience

The exposed brick walls, warm wooden tables, and thoughtfully placed lighting give the restaurant a rustic, European charm, while the fun, lively bar adds a modern twist. It’s the perfect balance: intimate enough to feel like a secret hideaway, but spacious and inviting enough that you never feel cramped inside the restaurant. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear you’ve discovered a hidden gem.

After clearing out debris and old supplies, he imagined transforming it into a Belgian-inspired restaurant—and the idea stuck…
