KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — It’s a big day for fried chicken fans: The new Raising Cane’s restaurant in Kentwood opened Tuesday.
While the festivities officially kicked off at 8 a.m. with music, performances from East Kentwood’s cheer team and giveaways, customers Kane Palmer and Vilmos Ambrus arrived at 6 p.m. the day before, spending the night outside the restaurant on 28th Street near Lake Eastbrook Boulevard. The duo traveled from Muskegon and wanted to make sure they were first in line.
“We planned this for months,” Ambrus said. “Ever since we heard that they were going to open.”
“I was like, ‘Well, my name’s Kane. I have to be first in line,’” Palmer said, laughing.
