New Young Dolph mural unveils on fourth anniversary of his death

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Four years after the tragic murder of Adolph “Young Dolph” Thornton in Memphis, a new mural has been unveiled to honor his legacy. Community members, led by Frank Gottie of the “Put the Guns Down” organization, gathered today to dedicate the artwork near the site of his killing at Airways and Ketchum, close to Makeda’s Homemade Cookies.

The mural serves as a powerful symbol of the deep affection Young Dolph’s neighborhood held for him, ensuring his memory endures.

Brandon Marshall, CEO of Memphis Mural Works, expressed the honor of contributing to the tribute. “To be able to serve the community in this way and just leave a tribute for somebody that has just made such a positive contribution to the city, it’s a huge honor.
