Poaching three deer cost a West Tennessee man his hunting privileges for six years and a fine of $17,500.
One of the deer was a 15-point buck and the size of the fine – in the form of restitution to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency – was based on the size of the antlers. The bigger the antlers, the bigger the fine.
Compounding the offense was the fact that the poaching was done on the grounds of the West Tennessee State Penitentiary, where hunting is prohibited…
