Richlands Police Department searching for robbery suspect

RICHLANDS, VA (WVNS) — The Richlands Police Department is looking for information regarding a robbery suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.

According to a post on the Richlands Police Department’s Facebook page, the police department is searching for Jason Morgan, of Portsmouth, Virginia, after a robbery that took place at around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the Family Dollar store located in the Richlands area of Tazewell County.

The Richlands Police Department’s Facebook post stated that Morgan was driving a Kia SUV, with Virginia license plate TDL-8565 during the reported incident.

According to the Richlands Police Department, Morgan is considered armed and dangerous, and his location is unknown. The community is advised to call 911 immediately if they have information about Morgan’s location or those who may have seen the car, and were warned to stay away if they see Morgan.

Investigators have worked tirelessly throughout the evening with our regional partners to identify this suspect. Warrants are currently being sought for his arrest.
