DHS reports surge in vehicle attacks on law enforcement nationwide

CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — Federal immigration enforcement officers are facing a sharp rise in vehicular assaults nationwide, and Illinois has emerged as a significant flashpoint.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), nearly 100 vehicle attacks have targeted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers since January—more than double last year’s total.
