Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low of 46°. Winds WSW 10-15 MPH.Tomorrow: Partly cloudy. High of 79°. Winds W→SW 10-15 MPH.
TONIGHT:
Clouds will gradually increase across the region overnight. A partly cloudy sky can be expected, with winds sustained out of the west-southwest around 10-15 MPH. By sunrise on Tuesday, temperatures will still be above average area wide! Lows will only settle into the mid 30s over northwestern areas, with southeastern locations remaining in the upper 40s to low 50s.

TUESDAY:
Temperatures will remain 18-22 degrees above their seasonal averages for Tuesday. Highs will climb back into the low 70s to mid 80s during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Winds will shift from the west to the southwest, with sustained speeds of 10-15 MPH expected. Gusts near 20-25 MPH will also be likely. We will remain dry across the forecast area. Temperatures will remain pretty warm for this time of year as we head overnight, as lows only settle into the 40s to mid 50s by sunrise on Wednesday!

SHORT TERM FORECAST:
Wednesday will begin with isolated showers for some. By midday, we will be mainly dry across the region. Highs will top out in the 70s to low 80s under a cloudy sky. Winds will be out of the southwest around 12-18 MPH. Showers and an isolated storm or two will return to the region Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Showers and storms will continue on and off Thursday through roughly 8 PM CST across the KLBK forecast area. Some storms could be on the strong side, with strong wind gusts and hail possible at times. Locally heavy rainfall is likely, too, with areas east of Lubbock seeing isolated amounts over 2 inches! High temperatures will mainly be in the 60s, with a few low to mid 70s possible Thursday. A cloudy to mostly cloudy sky is expected during the day, with clouds beginning to break up overnight. Thursday night into Friday morning will remain dry, with possibly some patchy dense fog in spots.

EXTENDED FORECAST:
We will dry out for our Friday and Saturday, with a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky returning to the region. Highs will remain in the 60s to mid 70s, with morning lows dropping into the 30s and 40s. Clouds will increase Sunday and Monday as our next storm system begins to move in from the west. Isolated showers and storms are possible at this time, but there is still some disagreement in the data as to how widespread and heavy it will be. Morning lows on Sunday and Monday will be in the upper 30s to low 50s. Winds will remain sustained around 10-20 MPH, with occasional gusts as high as 25-35 MPH. The direction of the winds will be variable due to the passing frontal boundaries.
